Launch of Website for Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association

February 6, 2010

The Arunachal Pradesh Doctors’ Association (APDA) has just launched its own website at APDA.org.in.

The website does a good job of highlighting the APDA’s mission, which is to advance public health and medical education in Arunachal Pradesh. The APDA also aims to promote the different disciplines of medical sciences. The following resources can be found on the ADPA website:

  • Indian Publich Health Standards (IPHS) for hospitals and health centres.
  • Orders by Arunachal Pradesh government.
  • Arunachal Pradesh Health Services Rules.
  • Application form for ADPA membership.
  • ADPA bye-laws,  press releases, letters and circulars.
  • A list of all ADPA members.
  • Information about medical camps.
  • CME information.
  • Photo gallery.

The head office of the APDA is located in Naharlagun.

Today, ie, the 11th of March 2010, at around 10.30 AM, I attended the State level APDA Meeting conducted at Achi Ama Hotel at Naharlagun. The meeting was very well conducted and managed. As such, it was my first experience and attended it as an observer though I was not a part of the District Executive Team of Papum Pare District.

Today in the meeting, thanks to the members that they authorized the Central Executive Members of APDA to initiate legal actions against the Government in case their deeds violates the existing Recruitment Rules and APHS Cadre Rules, giving the much needed teeth to the Association. This single act, in the long run, would go a long way in bringing some discipline in the system.

But without sufficient standing fund, for carrying out day today routine works as well as to deal with unforeseen contingencies, mere legal empowerment would lack the required punch. Therefore, a perennial system of fund collection should be devised so that the Central Executive Members enthusiasm to go after crisis resolution should not remain hostage to slow phase of donation collection for specific purpose. Sufficient standing fund would give the APDA Central Executive Members needed strategic flexibility and speed of action in certain sensitive issues, which of course, would be in the interest of Doctors’ of Arunachal Pradesh.

So it is imperative that a System of Self Sustaining Perennial Fund Collection is devised at the earliest for APDA.

Got something to say?
